Mines push generator sets harder than almost any other application: round-the-clock operation, extreme heat or altitude, dust, vibration and long distances from service centres. MPMC builds mining-specific generator sets at its Haimen smart factory, and its units power mining operations in Australia, the Philippines, Indonesia, Peru and Côte d'Ivoire. Durability is engineered into every stage, from steel cutting to final load testing.
Every MPMC generator set follows an end-to-end in-house process: laser cutting to a zero-burr standard, certified welding by operators who each hold a licence and complete 30 days of training, NDT magnetic-particle flaw detection and pressure testing on every chassis, sandblasting and C3, C4 or C5 anti-corrosion coating. Sprayed products undergo 500 to 700 hours of salt-spray testing twice a year, targeting at least three years of outdoor rust resistance.
MPMC's CNAS-accredited testing system includes five power-section test rooms and a constant-temperature room that simulates 40°C or 50°C ambient, and each unit is load-tested at 0%, 25%, 50%, 75%, 100% and 110% before shipment, so a set arrives on the mine with its performance already proven.
The same cutting, welding, coating, salt-spray and load-test regime applies to every order, so the tenth unit delivered to a mine carries exactly the build quality of the first, which makes it simple to standardise equipment across a site's generating units.

MPMC Powertech Jiangsu in Haimen, a 22,000 m² smart factory, specialises in high-end customised generator sets including mining-specific models and continuous-operation power stations. Mine operators can choose Cummins, Perkins, MTU, Baudouin, Scania, SDEC, Kubota and other engines on the same platform, backed by MPMC's position as the largest G-OEM by volume in China for Perkins and Stamford in recent years and a top-three G-OEM for DCEC and Kubota. Engine and alternator service is supported through each brand's global service network.
Containerised designs suit mining logistics particularly well: units ship by sea in standard container dimensions and arrive with engine, alternator, controls, cooling and fuel system pre-integrated and factory-tested, ready for rapid on-site deployment. Built-in fuel tank options of 6, 8, 12 or 24 hours, together with bonded or external tank arrangements, let operators match refuelling intervals to the mine's haul and delivery schedule.

The Philippine project shows the level of site-specific configuration MPMC delivers: a 1,575 kVA prime containerised unit built around a Cummins KTA50-G9 engine and Stamford S6L1D-H4 312 alternator, configured for 480 V at 60 Hz, fitted with a copper radiator rated for 50°C ambient and managed by a DSE8610MKI controller.
For mine construction zones with fluctuating loads, MPMC pairs its containerised gensets with HBD-R mobile battery storage so the generator runs at its efficient load point of around 75% while the battery handles fluctuations and motor-start surges. MPMC product data associates this pairing with fuel savings of up to 75% and much longer maintenance intervals, giving mining operators lower running costs and less service travel to remote sites.
Hybrid systems are managed through MPMC's self-developed SCADA, with real-time remote monitoring, proactive maintenance alerts and Starlink satellite backup communication for mines far from mobile networks.
